IFCA & WACS

The Indian Federation of Culinary Associations (IFCA) is the apex body of all the professional, registered regional chefs associations in India and is a recognized National member of the World Association of Chefs Societies.

The World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) is the global apex organization to which national organizations from all over the world are affiliated. IFCA is a proud member of WACS and represents India in the culinary world.

4. Bangalore Chapter
5. Kerala Chapter
6. Culinary Association of Andra Pradesh
7. Culinary forum of Goa

The recognized regional culinary associations in India affiliated to IFCA and WACS are:

As per IFCA bye laws and the resolution passed in the general body meeting of the World Association of Chefs Societies, the members of the above associations are automatically considered as the members of IFCA and WACS.

Award Application Invite

IFCA is pleased to announce the following Awards for the 4 National Culinary Congress 2009 and invites applications for the same:

1. IFCA Chef of the Year
2. IFCA Young Chef of the Year
3. IFCA Culinary Educator of the Year
4. IFCA Young Culinary Educator of the year
5. IFCA Young Entrepreneur of the Year
6. IFCA Golden Hat - By Invitation
7. IFCA Hall of Fame - By Invitation
8. IFCA Culinary Writer Award - By Invitation

While framing the qualifications and the application, the international norms framed by various global culinary accreditation organizations and the guidelines of the World Association of Chefs Societies have been kept in mind.

These Awards will be notified to the World Association of Chefs Societies as recognized by IFCA. In fact, the awards will be recognized for the purpose of consideration for international awards under the amended WACS byelaws (2004) and the IFCA byelaws, and the directives issued by the Executive Board of IFCA .

The awardee list will be sent to WACS records and the WACS international bulletin.

Award Objectives

A. To recognize the IFCA Culinary talent who best exemplifies the highest standard of professionalism in today's kitchen, through     certification, continuing education and training, culinary competitions, development of young culinarians and community     involvement.
B. To honor active, working chefs who run the day-today operations of a full-service dining facility and supervise its kitchen brigade.

The Awards (wherever applicable) contain:

1. Specially designed memento
2. A citation

Important Note

--> Award will not be given in absentia.
--> Nominees selected for this award by an accreditation committee must be a delegate to the IFCA National Culinary Congress.
--> All the applications should be submitted before November 1, 2009.
--> Applicants must be member of any of the culinary associations such as ICF, SICA, WICA, EICA, CAAP,
--> Culinary forum of Goa(CFG)affiliated to IFCA and WACS as of November 1, 2009 ( not applicable for awards at Sl.no 7 and 8)

Application Guidelines

The Application provides a structured and organized method for you to present and document your educational and professional achievements.

Kindly ensure that instructions are strictly followed:-

--> Your application and supporting documentation must be submitted to the address given below.
--> For extra space use additional blank sheets.
--> Please affix a passport size photograph.
--> Supplementary material such as books, reports, CDs, photographs and videos should be presented in summary form. (A title and      contents page of a book or a still from a video is sufficient.)
--> Accuracy in the information and facts (e.g. dates) is required.
--> Qualifying words “about” or “approximately” can be used when necessary.
--> Avoid repetition or duplication (e.g. information or activity mentioned once should not be repeated).
--> Completed applications and required attachments should be forward to the IFCA before 1st November 2009.

Candidate eligibility

Professional Qualification:-

Must have a minimum of three years of Culinary / Catering/ Hotel Management/ F&B Professional experience and Certificate.

Experience:-

Must have at least 10 years of continuous experience in the appropriate field, of which, last three years must be in India.

Age:-

Refer to respective award criteria

Address proof:-

Must be enclosed with the application (photo copy of documents such as birth certificate, passport, driving license, school leaving certificate etc.)

Grand List of Awards

IFCA CHEF OF THE YEAR AWARD
Must be working as a chef in India during the date of application. No age limit.

IFCA YOUNG CHEF OF THE YEAR
Must be working in India during the date of application. Age limit 35years.

IFCA CULINARY EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR
Must be working as a Chef instructor/ Chef Trainer in a Catering / Culinary / Hotel management Institute / Training Center of a business establishment during the date of application. No Age limit.

IFCA YOUNG CULINARY EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR
Must be working as an Culinary / F&B instructor / F&B Trainer in a Catering / Culinary / Hotel management Institute / Training Center of a business establishment during the date of application.
